Nordics Turning Green
Elevating the Nordic green transition to create more attractive and competitive cities and regions
Nordregio Forum 2024
November 20-21
ONLINE & Luleå, Sweden
In the Nordics we prefer our industries to be green, and yet our people fly even more now than before the pandemic. Innovation in green tech is abundant while sustainable behaviour lags behind.
What if the Nordic region could be world leaders not just in renewable tech and greener supply chains but in living sustainably as well? A future where rural and urban economies thrive and sustainability is not treated as a greenwashed political chore. This isn't just a dream — it's a vision that is possible, when long-term planning is based on solid research.
Welcome to the Nordregio's flagship research conference!
At Nordregio Forum we bring together decision makers, industry leaders and the brightest minds from regional research, to transform visions of an attractive green transition into actionable strategies.
The Nordic economies are still reliant on industries that are significant sources of emissions. Norway's oil and gas sector is a major contributor to its carbon footprint. As are Denmark's agriculture, Sweden’s transport sector and Finland's forestry industries.
Spreading out the green transition beyond an individual chore, to a regional culture shift is more than an economic opportunity. It is a chance to redefine how our economies grow, how our societies function, and how our cultures flourish.
Join us online or in-person at Luleå Kulturhus on November 20th and 21st.
When: November 20-21, 2024
